Learning objectives

To see the characteristics of a transverse Electromagnetic wave.
To introduce the Speed of Light to Wavelength and Frequency Relationship: The speed of the electromagnetic wave (speed of light) is equal to the wavelength times the frequency.

Transverse Electromagnetic Wave (TEM). This animation shows a linear polarized wave. The relationship between frequency and wavelength is illustrated. (Their product remains constant: it is the speed of light!).
